We really did invite the President to our wedding. You don’t believe me? This is the envelope I mailed to The President and Mrs. Barack Obama:
And, this is what was mailed to our home about a month after mailing an invitation to the White House:
A hand addressed envelope with a signed note card inside. I’m sure they are mass produced and not personally signed by The President and his Frist Lady, but still pretty cool. Right? Says the girl who is far from being classified as “political”. I learned about sending an invite to the President via Weddingbee and thought it would be a fun keepsake for the wedding memorabilia. We had a few extra invitations so I addressed the envelope and sent on it’s merry way to the White House.
The note card and envelope stayed tucked away in our wedding box for 3 years until I finally decided to pull them out and display. I placed the envelope and note card on a black matte board and hunt on our living room wall.
The wall I affectionately call “The Wedding Wall”. A collection of wedding photos, our guest book thumbprint tree and a few other wedding related items.
Unfortunately, they were too busy to attend our wedding. They sure missed a good time! Are you sending an invitation to the White House? Did the President show up to your wedding? 😉
