Laundry List of Problems: Part II

Prior to tackling the laundry room refresh, it was feeling dark, cold and lacking function.  If you missed Part I click over here for the details.  I am happy to share most of the laundry room problems have been solved and it’s looking much more cheery and fresh.  Sorting, washing and folding laundry is waaaayyy more fun when you enjoy walking into your laundry room.  Without further blabbing we’ll hop right into the photos.  Stretch out your scrolling finger; there are many photos ahead!  Laundry Room Refresh Before and After 2

The mini canvas art above and quirky sign below were made by this girl.  I love the saying below because I really dislike ironing.  Paul is the expert ironer in our house.  If I need something ironed I ask him to do it.  That’s what husbands are for, right? 😉

I am firm believer you can hang anything on the wall.  The previous owners left this yard stick behind (plus 5-10 other yard sticks.  If you need a yard stick call me!).  It was cool so I hung on the wall.

Wish List Items Completed:

  • Painted walls
  • Added additional light fixture
  • Installed cabinets
  • Installed new counter top
  • White trim around window
  • Installed curtain
  • New rugs
  • Moved washing machine to right to make room for laundry sorter
  • Additional shelving and hanging bar
  • Installed accordion wall drying rack
  • White fabric with rope tied around ugly yellow pipe
  • Made a laundry tub skirt
  • Created wall art and accessorized

Future Wish List Items:

  • Replace the fresh air duct (too short and blows cold air onto concrete floor)
  • Replace washer and dryer
  • Update laundry tub & faucet
  • Update cabinet hardware (with something more colorful)
  • Remove bubbling window tint ( which really means new windows- that window tint refuses to come off)

That concludes the Laundry Room Refresh.  The remaining wish list items will most likely be accomplished during yet another snowy winter.  Until then, we have plenty of other lists to keep us distracted from the list above.  How’s your laundry room lookin’?
